Emley 4 - 1 Colwyn Bay - 24/02/01 - League
The
Seagulls suffered yet another heavy defeat at top of the table Emley.
Bay came up against a side who are undefeated at their new Wakefield home this
season, and this was always going to be a stern test for a side without a win in
18 outings.
Emley's breakthrough came after a stoppage when Bay keeper Richie Roberts
required treatment after 21 minutes, when play resumed Miles Thorpe supplied the
pass for Nazha who powered his drive into the net from 18 yards.
Paul Cuss in the host's goal was called into action six minutes later when he
saved from an Owain Roberts shot.
Emley's second came two minutes before half time Rob Tonks, a replacement for
top scorer Simeon Bambrook firing home.
Bay came out fighting for the second half and tried to take the game to the
hosts and Micky Lennon gave them a glimmer of hope after 54 minutes with an
impressive run and finish.
Bay's hopes of a morale boosting result though were dashed after 68 minutes when
Nazha netted his second.
Nazha completed his hat-trick in the final minute of normal time with Thorpe
again the provider.
