Colwyn Bay 3 - 1 Rhyl -
07/03/02 - North Wales Coast FA Cup 5th Round
Deiniol Graham's first half hat-trick secured
a 3-1 win for the Seagulls against Rhyl and a place in the next round of the
Gwynedd Trophies North Wales Coast Challenge Cup.
Graham opened his account on 29 minutes, Paul
Jones and Craig Lawton combining to set up the striker who slotted the ball
home from eight yards.
Rhyl were level within two minutes when Nick
Welton rifled a low drive from 25 yards.
But the Bay were back in front on 39 minutes
when from Stuart Scheuber's pass he again found the net.
The hat-trick was completed in the last minute
of the first half. Jon Fisher Cooke - formerly of Rhyl - was fouled by Neil
Rigby - formerly of Colwyn Bay. Graham stepped up to take the resultant
penalty and the Bay were 3-1 ahead.
Rhyl did have chances in the second half, but
there was to be no change to the scoreline and it is the Seagulls who
advance into the next round.
