Bamber Bridge 1 - 2 Colwyn Bay
- 11/09/01 - League
Colwyn Bay secured their second away win of the
season with victory over Bamber Bridge, although they had to come from behind to
do so.
Bay went behind to a spirited Brig side sporting four new players. Andy Moran
headed them into a 15th minute lead after a fine cross by Lee Pryors.
Before half time the men from Irongate were down to ten men after centre forward
Simon Burton lashed out at Colin Caton. Bay levelled the scores a minute into
the second half as Deiniol Graham netted from the spot after Brig 'keeper Andy
Banks had brought down James McIlvogue.
Although Bay struggled to break down the ten men, McIlvogue popped up to score a
spectacular goal from fully 25 yards to bag the three points with only a couple
of minutes remaining. The win extended the Bay's unbeaten run to five games.
