Colwyn Bay 0 - 3 Worksop Town - 20/10/01 - League

The Bay crashed to their third successive Unibond League Premier Division defeat in at the hands of Worksop Town.

Worksop threatened from the off and in the first minute Gary Townend headed wide from six yards when he should have scored.

Minutes later, home midfielder Marc Limbert tested keeper Jamie Holmshaw from 20 yards and then in the 19th minute Craig Lawton teed up a free kick for Limbert to rattle the bar from 30 yards.

It was a let-off for the visitors, who went on to control the rest of the half with Andy Gray firing wide from 18 yards. Later the impressive Andy Todd saw his shot blocked by 'keeper Paul Smith.

Worksop's pressure brought its reward in the 26th minute when Bay defender Glen Graham deflected the ball into his own net under pressure from a corner kick.

Gray broke through nine minutes later, but Smith came out smartly to take the ball off his toes and the Bay's only other goal attempt before the break came on 41 minutes when Graham Robert's 30-yard drive was held by Holmshaw.

The Seagulls were stunned by a second Worksop goal four minutes after the interval. Todd found himself 12 yards out and his low shot beat Smith's dive.

Worksop were always looking capable of increasing their lead and, in the 64th minute, Todd tried his luck from a tight angle and the ball went off Smith into the net at the near post.
