Colwyn Bay 4 - 1 Prestatyn Town - 07/08/01 - Friendly

An impressive debut in the centre of defence for young Merseysider Craig Hogg was one of the plus points as the Seagulls came from a goal down to chalk up a comfortable victory over Prestatyn Town. Hogg, 19-year-old six footer, was with Everton last season  but was released in the Summer, and caught the eye not only with his defensive play but particularly with his distribution from the back.  Prestatyn took lead though a John Hargreaves header from virtually their only chance of the game, and it took Colwyn Bay quite a while to turn their superiority into goals with a number of missed chances and some good saves by Prestatyn 'keeper Paul Jackson. James McIlvogue put the Seagulls level at half-time before Craig Lawton ran through to fire them in front early in the second half. A superb run and pass by Hogg set up McIlvogue for his second goal of the game and Calvin Davies got Bay's fourth near the end after good play by Jon Fisher-Cooke had set up the chance.
