Colwyn Bay 1 - 1 Hucknall Town - 08/09/01 - League

The Bay illustrated their new found resilience but failed to pick up their third win in a row as the drew 1-1 with Hucknall Town in this Unibond Premier League clash at Llanelian Road.

The first half was keenly contested by both sides and goal scoring chances were few and far between. Deiniol Graham had a chance to open the scoring for the hosts on 20 minutes but saw his shot saved by Town's goalkeeper and captain Dave McCarthy.

As half-time loomed the Seagulls forced a series of fruitless corners and right on the stroke of half time Alun Evans burst into the visitor's box only to see his shot well saved by McCarthy.

Bay came out for the second half firing on all cylinders in the second half and put the visitors under pressure without creating a clear cut
goal-scoring opportunity.

However the visitors came storming back and after testing Paul Smith in the Bay goal three times, Leroy Chambers put the visitors into the lead.

Seven minutes later Bay were back on level terms, James McIllvogue's well weighted through ball found Marc Limbert who squared his pass to man of the moment. Alun Evans to coolly slot the ball into the visitor's net for his fourth goal of the season.

Hucknall skipper McCarthy made sure the visitors left Llanelian Road with a share of the points as Bay nearly pinched all three in the final minute, saving well from Evans and then from substitute Cross making his first appearance of the season.
