Colwyn Bay 2 - 1 Burscough  - 26/12/01 - League

The Bay celebrated Christmas with a 2-1 Boxing Day win over Burscough at Llanelian Road.

It took the Seagulls almost until the interval to crack a stubborn Burscough defence, when Dean Williams steered home a looping header from 10 yards after good work by Marc Limbert.

The visitors came back and seven minutes after the re-start they equalised. Lee Furlong's low shot finding it's way past keeper Paul Smith who had
earlier denied efforts from Furlong and John Lawless.

But the Bay took the lead once more and on 68 minutes Jason Jones scored with a drive from 12 yards following some good work by Craig Lawton.

The Seagulls should have added to their tally late on, but James McIlvogue's powerful header was saved by Matt Taylor who tipped his effort over the cross bar.
