Burscough 4 - 0 Colwyn Bay - 13/10/01 - League

Burscough inflicted the Bay's heaviest defeat of the season in this Unibond League Premier Division match.

The Linnets took the lead after 12 minutes when Ryan Bowen followed up to shoot home from 15 yards after Billy Knowles' initial shot was parried by Bay keeper Paul Smith.

In response, Alun Evans saw his 20-yarder saved by Matt Taylor as the visitors pressed for an equaliser but Burscough went two up in the 29th minute as Knowles turned and shot past Smith from 10 yards.

The Seagulls tried to get back into the game after the interval but James McIlvogue's header was saved at the base of the post by Taylor and Marc Limbert fired his shot wide.

The visitors were given a chance to resurect their chances following a foul on Danny Barton by Knowles in the 74th minute, Evans had a chance to reduce the deficit but put the penalty kick wide and Burscough added two more goals from Bowen (78) and substitute Mack Stanton (90).
