Colwyn Bay failed to breach Bamber Bridge's
stubborn defence and had to be content with a share of the points in the
league clash at Llanelian Road.
The Bay should have scored in the opening
seconds of the game with what transpired to be their best chance of the
afternoon. Deiniol Graham's effort was cleared off the line by Lee Pryers.
At the other end Paul Smith saved from Paul
Ryan while Scott Willis fired across the face of goal. The Bay found it hard
to find the break, and Deiniol Graham was again denied when his header was
saved by keeper Chris Sharrack.
Brig had the ball in the back of the net on 23
minutes, Willis' effort deemed offside while Ryan saw efforts hit the
side netting and saved by Smith.
Despite the Bay's best efforts, thye couldn't
break Bamber Bridge's determined defence in the second half. Marc
Limbert saw a shot from 25 yards go wide on 53 minutes while Craig
Hogg, playing in midfield, fed Limbert 12 minutes, his 20 yarder well
saved by Sharrack.
The Bay were without a number of first team
players through a mixture of injury and suspension. The Seagulls attempted
to find an elusive goal, and Owain Roberts and Dean Williams went close.
Both sides could have snatched it late in the
game. In th 90th minute Steve Aspinall's cross was headed off the line by
Bay left back Gary Curtis, and a minute later Limbert beat two defenders on
the edge of the box only to shoot wide.
