Whitby Town 5 - 1 Colwyn Bay - 13/01/01 - League

That early goal came after just two minutes when Marc Limbert struck a fierce shot from 18 yards and Mickey Lennon was on hand to hit the ball home.

It was the Bay who were in control during the early stages, and they could have extended their lead when an Alun Evans effort was saved by the keeper.

Ludlow struck again on 34 minutes when he darted down the left and shoot low past Richie Roberts. His and Whitby's third came just before the interval when he had a simple tap in.

The Bay could have made it 3-2 in the second half but it seems the Bay's luck was out, when Paul Jones headed against the bar. The home side scored a fourth on 63 minutes through Graham Robinson.

The Bay's afternoon of rotten luck was confounded, when Lee Ludlow was brought down in the box by Richie Roberts. Roberts who was shown the red card for the foul, and Ludlow picked himself up to slot the resulting penalty past stand in keeper Graham Roberts, securing his fourth goal of the afternoon.

Late on Jonathan Cross could have scored a consolation, but he hit his free kick wide of the post.
