Colwyn Bay 1 - 2 Caernarfon Town - 11/04/01 - North Wales Coast FA Cup 5th round

Colwyn Bay's defence of the North Wales Coast FA Challenge Cup came to an end when they were beaten at home by Cymru Alliance leaders Caernarfon Town.

The Bay included a number of youngsters from the reserve side in the team, with Marc Limbert, Owain Roberts and Glen Graham the only first team regulars figuring in the starting eleven.

The Canaries took the lead on 11 minutes when Ian Bold headed in following Scott Millington's free kick.

The Bay equalised on 65 minutes when Daniel Mercer, having come on as substitute, beat Caernarfon keeper Steve Skupski to a long ball through the middle.

The visitors ensured their passage through to the next round when they scored a winner on 74 minutes. Following a scramble in the Bay area, in
which Ian Bold hit the post, former Bay player Mally Tidswell scored and secure a quarter final tie at Flint.
