Colwyn Bay 2 - 2 Manchester City  - 30/11/00 - Friendly

Over 500 people gathered to see the Seagulls come back from a 0-2 half time deficit to gain a respectable 2-2 draw with Manchester City and came within a width of a post of winning the game. Manchester City's slick passing and movement dominated much of the first half and only a succession of saves from Richie Roberts in the Bay goal kept the visitors from Maine Road down to a 2-0 interval lead. Leon Mike (brother of Adie) got the first on 15 minutes after Richie had blocked a shot from Chris Shuker, and Shuker neatly skipped passed Colin Caton to score the second with a low shot just inside the post.

A spectacular goal from Deiniol Graham four minutes after the restart put the Bay back into the game, striking a dropping ball on the volley from fully 30 yards to send a shot dipping over Richard McKinney, the City custodian. A back header by Alun Evans from a Marc Limbert free kick then put the Seagulls level as they upped the tempo with the introduction of several substitutes including new signing Jamie Holmes from Connah's Quay Nomads. Richie Roberts made two more excellent save to deny ex-Evertonian Tony Grant and City skipper Jim Whitley. Colwyn might have snatched victory near the end when Limbert sent Mickey Lennon clear only for McKinney to make a good save and then Lennon supplied Deiniol Graham whose shot beat the City 'keeper but hit the foot of a post to end an excellent second half performance by the Bay.
